Google Hire is Fired!

That didn’t last long! Google have announced that they are closing their recruitment product Hire on the 1st September 2020.

The official statement reads as follows:

Sunsetting Hire by Google

We’ve made the difficult decision to sunset Hire by Google on September 1, 2020. While Hire has been successful, we’re focusing our resources on other products in the Google Cloud portfolio.

We are deeply grateful to our customers, as well as the champions and advocates who have joined and supported us along the way. 

Here are some important details to help with the transition:

Q: How long can I use the product?  

A: You can continue to use Hire up until the end of your contract or September 1, 2020, whichever comes first.

Q: Will Hire be supported through sunset?  

A: Yes. Up until September 1, 2020, Google will provide customers under contract with support in accordance with the TSS guidelines and maintain the Hire product. This includes honoring our SLA. If your contract expires before September 1, 2020, you will have the option to extend your contract until September 1, 2020 for no additional fees. To do so, reach out to Hire Support to initiate this request.

Q: Will I have to keep paying for Hire?

A: After your next bill, there will be no additional charges for your standard usage of Hire up until the end of your contract term or September 1, 2020, whichever comes first. If your contract expires before September 1, 2020 and you wish to continue to use the product after the contract expires, please reach out to support to initiate this request.

Q: Will there be additional feature development?

A: No, we will not be adding new functionality. However, we will be maintaining our SLA as defined at http://hire.google.com/terms.

Q: Can you help me export my data?

A: Yes, we will continue to provide free data export (as we do today) until the end of your contract term or September 1, 2020, whichever comes first. Google offers free Hire data export service to all customers under a current contract. Our standard export format is JSON which is supported by most popular ATSes. In the event you require additional help, please reach out to Hire support.

Q: Can we cancel the contract prior to the expiration date?

A: Yes. Please notify us of your intention to cancel via Hire support and we’ll terminate your agreement with no penalty (no additional charges).

Q: Will you immediately sunset some of the features?

A: A number of experimental features that were not formally launched will be turned off within the next month.

Q: Does this impact our G Suite agreement?

A: No. This does not impact your G Suite agreement. There will be no changes to your G Suite charges as a result of the Hire sunset.
